Best of Cape Cod

I'm thinking of moving to Cape Cod. Any advice?

Hello! I am a 25 year old single male who is considering moving to Cape Cod. I work a full-time third shift job, which I can transfer, and I also go to college part time for radio broadcasting. I make decent cash and I'm thinking about renting an apartment or getting a mortgage for a cheap house if possible. Somewhere near Hyannis, where the community college is. I visited Cape Cod this summer for 4 days and it seems like a great place to live. The people are friendly and the parks and beaches are beautiful, and if you like nature and history it seems like there is always something new to discover. I've done some research already. My question is does anybody think it would be a smart move for me to make? are there any downsides to living on the cape (besides cold winters and crowded summers)? I've read that the majority of people living on the cape are married couples with a family, and retirees, and for a single male to move there is social suicide. please prove me wrong. how is the radio up there? what is the number 1 station like? hope to get some codders feedback, or anyone who live/visited who has some advice. Thanks!

Yes, it would be a BAD move. There are no "cheap" homes to rent/buy. If you do find an inexpensive place it would probably be seasonal and you would have to move out for the summer and then trying to find a summer rental will be expensive. The "summers" and winters are very different. Summer brings lots of tourist/traffic. Winter is boring and not so much traffic. Job wise a lot of locals commute into Boston to work, as there are not too many high paying jobs on the cape. I grew up on the cape and moved from there after college, mostly for these reasons. Positives would be if you know other singles and will hang out with them, possibly sharing an apt/home and don't mind the slow season (winter), have a good paying/secure job then you will be ok. Hope this helps

The radio on Cape is far better than CT.

How can your social life be slow with 10 times the annual population visiting there every summer?
