Best Teenager / Family town on Ocean Side?

We're a family from California looking for recommendations on the best beach town to stay on the cape next summer. Actually, we're seeking a nice house directly on the beach, and ability to ride bikes to town in the evening, for dinner, ice cream , rent a movie etc.

We're active and like to surf, swim , fish... all of it. What is the best town ?? Hyannis? Harwich? Dennis ? We have no idea.

We would suggest concentrating your search in Chatham. Chatham is by far our favorite town on Cape Cod. It is right on the elbow of the Cape…So you have access to the beaches of Nantucket Sound, which has warm, calm water, and the beaches of the Atlantic, with big surf and cold water. Ahh…The best of both worlds. The town of Chatham has a quaint New England feel, with many shops and restaurants to keep you busy. Check out www.weneedavacation.com for some great beachfront rentals.
